Built by Brazil Concludes Historic Participation at MIPIM 2026 with Record-Breaking Delegation

Pedro Coelho de Souza, Built by Brazil manager

AsBEA, through its internationalization program Built by Brazil—in partnership with ApexBrasil—has successfully concluded its international mission to MIPIM 2026. Held from March 9th to 13th at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, the event marked a significant milestone for the global reach of Brazilian architecture and urbanism. The mission celebrated the return of the Brazilian Architecture pavilion to the world’s leading real estate and urban development fair.

A High-Impact Delegation and Record Numbers

Marking a historic participation, this edition of MIPIM gathered the largest Brazilian delegation ever recorded at the fair, with 183 professionals. The group featured strategic participants such as the Municipality of Maricá, the COFECI/CRECI System, and the developer RZK. Specifically within the scope of Built by Brazil and AsBEA, the record was reaffirmed by the presence of 14 representatives from eight member firms, positioning themselves as exponents of contemporary Brazilian architecture: FGMF, Natureza Urbana, Fernandes Arquitetos, ARCHITECTS OFFICE, aflalo/gasperini arquitetos, Bernardes Arquitetura, Isay Weinfeld, and Königsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos.

The Brazilian pavilion served as the epicenter for an intense agenda of business meetings and technical presentations. A key differentiator this year was the infrastructure provided to architects within the exhibition area: in addition to individual presentations in the official program, each firm had an exclusive screen for portfolio display, physical model exhibitions, and the distribution of their own promotional materials.

Through high-quality audiovisual and physical content, combined with “talk” sessions, the firms demonstrated their capacity to operate in diverse markets, from the Middle East to Europe. The presentation schedule was a public success, addressing crucial themes:

  • Königsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos and FGMF opened the debates on Tuesday, discussing the evolution of the Brazilian skyline and the complexity of multidisciplinary projects.
  • On Wednesday, Bernardes Arquitetura, Natureza Urbana, Isay Weinfeld, and ARCHITECTS OFFICE + Carlo Ratti Associati presented solutions that merge sustainability, urban regeneration, and signature design.
  • aflalo/gasperini arquitetos concluded the lecture series on Thursday, focusing on high performance for dense urban environments.

Individual Business Meetings

Beyond the presentations and the permanent exhibition, the firms maintained a schedule of individual meetings with potential clients and partners from various global markets.

In total, more than 100 meetings were held with stakeholders from 23 countries: Albania, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States, France, Georgia, Greece, England, Italy, Japan, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, United Kingdom, Romania, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela.

Global Connections and Trends

In addition to booth activities, the delegation actively participated in seminars such as Housing Matters and closely followed the MIPIM Awards. These interactions allowed Brazilian architects to map key global trends in the residential, hospitality, and planned neighborhood sectors, strengthening the competitiveness of national architecture against the world’s major real estate players.

With the conclusion of this mission, Built by Brazil reaffirms its fundamental role in promoting the “Brasil” brand, transforming design excellence into concrete international business opportunities.
