Built by Brazil was responsible for coordinating the Internationalization – panel during the AsBEA convention – Architecture of Tomorrow, also making the presentation: Built by Brazil – From an Export Promotion Project to an AsBEA Internationalization Program. The panel was composed by: Laia Marsal, MIPIM commercial representative for Latin America, with the MIPIM World 2024 lecture, in addition to Miriam Addor and Gustavo Ribeiro with the – AIA International – lecture.
The manager of Built by Brazil, Pedro Coelho, began his speech by thanking the coordination of the Convention for the space to hold the lecture on the Program, and more than that, for the panel on internationalization. He completed the opening by stating that it was an honor, as an internationalist, to be able to coordinate and participate as a speaker on the first panel on the subject at an AsBEA convention, especially at the Convention marking the entity’s 50th anniversary.
After thanking the participation of the other speakers on the panel: Lara Marsal, Miriam Addor and Gustavo Ribeiro, Pedro gave the lecture presenting the trajectory of Built by Brazil, which began as a sectoral project to promote exports, in partnership with the Brazilian Agency of Exports Promotion and Investment Attraction (Apex-Brasil) to become, as of 2019, a comprehensive Program for the Internationalization of Architecture and Urban Planning Firms, autonomously maintained by AsBEA, with AsBEA-SP as sponsor.
He also pointed out that this change in scope allowed the Program, through the collaborative work of its associates, to achieve a very important milestone for the sector: the development of the first Strategies for the Internationalization of Brazilian Architecture and Urban Planning Firms. This work, unprecedented in Brazil, allowed the start of specific strategic detailing the commercial dynamics of the architecture and urban planning services segment, on which the success of the commercial promotion actions carried out by the Program directly depends. As a result of the execution of collective strategies, the Program carried out the unprecedented independent international action of international cooperation between architecture firms: Visit Built by Brazil to Florida (2022) and the first action to promote the attraction of investments for real estate projects in Brazil in partnership with Apex -Brazil at MIPIM 2023.
