On Rebouças Avenue, a plot with frontages on both Rebouças and Melo Alves Street allowed for new urban connections and enhanced public life. The open ground floor links the two streets: on Melo Alves, a retail space activates the sidewalk; on Rebouças, the wide frontage houses more shops and a covered square that slows the pace. Above, a 90 m tower with small apartments, some for short-term rental, features a façade rhythm marked by frames. Setback requirements at upper levels create three projecting horizontal blocks with brise-soleils, breaking uniformity and challenging the typical residential language. A conventional reinforced concrete structure supports 7.5 m cantilevers. The result is a striking building in the cityscape yet human in pedestrian scale.
