The project is part of a broader revitalization initiative known as Pró-Cidade São Luís, the Historic Center Revitalization Program of the Municipality of São Luís, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The surrounding area includes key tourist attractions in the city; therefore, the intervention aims to requalify the urban space and improve its integration with the Praia Grande Bus Terminal, providing better conditions for the appropriation and use of these public spaces. The project seeks to enhance the area’s infrastructure, contributing to its preservation, as well as to the safety of users and the overall quality of life of the population, with a particular focus on the revitalization of the Historic Center of São Luís, Maranhão.
