Hotel Fasano Salvador occupies an Art Deco building in the historic center of Salvador, built in the 1920s to house the headquarters of newspaper A Tarde.
The heritage listing, restricted to the façade, some rooms, and finishes, allowed some freedom in rearranging the layout, respecting the structure and original elements — doors, wall and ceiling ornaments, and the lobby floor, laid in marble cabochon.
With 70 rooms across 11 floors, the hotel also features a lobby, restaurant, spa, business center, and rooftop pool.
The finishes pay tribute to local history: dark wood panels evoke the Bahia rosewood; Azul-Bahia granite lines the pool, almost extending into the sea beyond; and local linens and lace complete the palette, lending warmth within Fasano’s signature sophistication.
